All from one place?

When purchasing hardware for a new build (from scratch), should i try to purchase everything from one place or mix n match from anywhere i can find the lowest price?

I suggest looking for the lowest prices and mix matching.....but say if you ordered you proc. from newegg, and you were looking for a 160 hdd and it is the same price as the one from newegg, then of course buy it off newegg with the proc. also try your local stores if you got any, i have best buy, bytes and peices, and circuit city, check those stores usually you can find deals...it might look more but in reality if you bought it on the web you have to include your shipping which boosts it up sometimes and will sometimes make the price from the store seem cheap.....

It is easier to buy everything from one place, but if you find a great deal on something on a different site go head and get it. sometimes it can be a hassle goin through and buying one or two things from 6 different sites. As for buying from local stores, when building a whole new comp you will save hundreds when buying online from the right places. heres an example of a vid card....

EWEGG-

Best Buy-
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1109234017954

Exact same card almost a $50 difference.

Try to get most of the parts from one on-line vendor, you'll save on shipping that way.

Check out the local stores like CompUSA, Office Max, Office Depot and similar for the prices on monitor and hard drives...these places usually have good deals on them (through rebates).

as long as you keep your orders and invoices straight you should be fine either way. When considering the lowest price make sure you bring shipping into account.

Thanks.
It seems that www.atic.ca is consistently cheaper than other stores. They are located nearby and I'd much rather pick up the parts myself.
Any reason to doubt a store that offers items at a cheaper price?
Any comments about atic (canadian store)?

Check out ResellerRatings. Don't seem to have much info on ATIC.

Sometimes the online prices are cheaper than the in-store prices. Don't know if this is the case with Atic but be aware of the possibility. Costs more for brick and mortar and a staff of workers.

Hey peekaboo, check out www.ncix.com for us Canadian folk. I've used them for several orders and have no complaints about them. Pricing is pretty competitive and shipping for you should be VERY fast as they are based in BC. I'm in the Toronto area and I get my orders in a couple of days or so.

Thank you Stryker for that link. atic.ca has absolutely terrible reviews. That's a shame because their prices are consistently lower than other stores. I will avoid them unless the price difference is worth the risk.

NCIX has 3 retail stores (Richmond, Burnaby, Vancouver). They offer price matching and allow for in store pickup, save the shipping cost. Check out their site.
