need suggestions on a media pc server network

I want to build a network with a 24/7 media server that can play stored divx, xvid, music, etc... I want 3 of the client stations attached to a tv and to act as a PVR primarily or to use to surf the internet secondary. A 4th and 5th station would be primarily used as a PC. We have analog tv, and want to stay below $150 for a video card or $200 for a video card and tuner card.

I have one P4 3ghz with 512 ram and 200gb HD with onboard video, sound, and 3 PCI slots left. I also have 2 Athlon 64 3000 with 512ram, 80gb hd, and onboard video, sound, and 2 PCI slots and 1 AGP slot each. I was thinking of adding another 200gb hd to the P4 and making it a media server running win media 2005. Then I 'll add either an ATI AIW AGP card, or separate tuner and no video card to the Athlons and make those clients attached to their own tv. One tv would be a CRT HD-ready and the other would be a 19" lcdtv. How effective are the AIW remote controls vs something like the nvidia personal cinema series, or is the tv remote better? Having a good remote control and quick response to channel changing is important. Playing games is somewhat important but I don't want to spend more than $150 for a video card on the clients. Is the resolution of a 15" lcd pc monitor still able to show tv artifacts and make it a better choice to use a lcd tv with DVI or RGB for the client computers? TIA
