New build can't load Windows XP

Well, everything went together and the computer is actually running! Made it through the startup rigamarole (it correctly identified the hard drives and dvd burner, then it got to where it asked for the bootup disk, when I inserted my xp professional cd (an honest one, not a bootleg)

I get this message, after a while of loading stuff:

"Windows XP Professional Setup

Setup could not read the CD you inserted, or the CD is not a valid Windows CD

Please insert blah, blah,....

When the cd is in the drive, press Enter"

If it can't read the CD, how did I get this far????

Any ideas on the next step??

Thanks,

Mike

So good

Check the cd, it may be dirty or scratched at that part. Check close to the inside.
