Question Psu Test????????????

how can i test the psu with out buying a power supply tester??????
i mean do i need to put it inside the case before turning it on..or i can test it outsite the case.....and does the fan need to start once i turn it on or until it gets a little hot......and does the psu have a ground cable..?????

you dont need to put the power supply in the case to test it. if it works, it works you dont need to wait till the fan start spinning. ground cable, do you mean the power cable?

You don't want to turn on the power supply without it being connected to something, such as a motherboard. WIthout a load on it, you'll burn the power supply up. That's one thing the power supply tester does.
