Are you considering running two vid cards? If so, you may want to check out a different mobo as you list only 1 16X slot above.

As far as the HD goes, I'm not sure what you're not understanding. Basically you have "regular" HDs (PATA) or the newer Serial (SATA) drives. Most folks recommend SATA as it will replace the older PATA tech, but if a mobo does not support SATA natively (meaning without having to load the special drivers) I usually recommend a regular HD as the primary and a SATA as a secondary HD. Most optical drives are still ATA 33 and should pose no problem.

I'd come down in the CPU and go up in the video card.

Also get a 1GB kit (2 x 512MB) for the RAM instead of a single 1GB module.

Maybe im getting 2 memorys with 1 GB capacity but if im going to 1 GB ill take ur advice and take 2 x 512.

I've changed the mobo to:

ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard
- Socket 939
- FSB 1000 MHz
- Up to 4 GB DDR RAM
- 4x 184pin DDR
- PCI Express x16 (2)
- PCI Express x1 (1)
- PCI Slots (3)

Thanx guys for the help ....

But is my combination compatible or ???

That's a good choice for a mobo, mod_024, and a good looking build overall

I was thinking you could get a 3700+ San Diego and a 7800GTX.

With a $1200 budget, I don't see how two 7800GTX graphics cards and one AMD 3700 CPU is going to work. You may have to scale back to one graphics card for now and buy the A8N-SLI board so that you can expand to two cards later on. Be sure to buy a PSU approved for SLI if future expansion is what you plan on doing.

Are you going to overclock? If so get the A8N-SLI Premium. It has more overclocking features.

David M,
I know with my budget i cant get two 7800 GT (not GTX), but im buying 1 now and the 2nd ill get it when i have the money, and did change the mobo type to the ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard.
and thanx for the tip about PSU i didnt know that

gigabyte9,
I dun know about overclocking, i dun think ill do it coz im not that familiar with it and i dun want to risk my processor if bought it
But im concidering ur thought if the premium model wont exceed my budget, coz im buying the monitor from my home country and they r very expensive here.

There's no such thing as a San Fransisco core (other than the city, of course). You got the two mixed up in your first post.

i just had a real LMAO when i saw the question, lol. San Diego cores are pretty good, they're new, and deliver good performance power. MOD, what do u plan to do with this computer exactly, is it extreme gaming? or just everyday stuff..or are u into editing with videos and whatnot?

If this build isn't going to be for hardcore gaming, no need to go two video cards. One 7800gt is more than enough for an average on and off gamer at this moment.

One 7800GT can handle pretty much anything you can throw at it right now. One of those should suffice and then in a year or two, you can pick up another one at a lower price and up the performance.

Make sure you get an SLI-Approved PSU. A list can be found at www.slizone.com. If your on a tight budget, I suggest the Antec TPII 550W, which runs a little under $100. If you have more money to spend, then any PSU on that list would be excilent for your system

EDIT: after glancing back at your build list, I saw your GPU was made by XFX. I don't have first hand experience with them, but I have heard about problems with XFX's card. Maybe eVGA, ASUS, MSI, or BFG may be the way to go - although I would wait for second opinions. I could be wrong

im going for the one u suggested bro Antec TPII 550W, i already ran over my budget for the mail components, my total is now 1359 $ (including the shipping to my home).

EDIT: My friend have trieded he told its great and also the user reviews from newegg.com was a great help, i've read almost every review about the XFX, i just hope it will be ok

I found everything at Newegg.com and costed me $ 200 less, but they dont accept International Credit Cards, so i went to a diffrent site and they will deliver it directly to my home for a good price.

I will tell my final build once im make the order just to let u know guys

I think thats about everything I need now .....

Thank You All .. I really Appreciate your help, i would've gotten in alot of trouble if it wasnt for your guidance.

Best Regards,
MOD

If you're going to make that kind of suggestion you should give a reason why he should use "better Corsair RAM" instead of the Value Select RAM.
