Could be...could be anything...we'll just have to go through the steps. Start with the out of the case build.

Yeah, you gotta find out if the core components (motherboard, CPU, video card, RAM, power supply) are good or not first.

Most of the time when you see symptoms such as you're seeing the motherboard is shorting/grounding out to the case somewhere.

It sort of depends on what part of the motherboard is shorting/grounding out to the case. Most times the motherboard and other parts are fine but I've heard of a few cases where the video slot or memory slots got fried. You just gotta pull the motherboard out and try to get POST in order to see if it's okay or not.

I wasn't exactly sure what u were trying to say so i'll tell u two things.

I had the same problem once and i notice it was my ram that was not in the slots correctly. Please make sure that the ram is correctly in its place. Fit it in all the way down.

Also, can u hear your computer speakers making the startup sound when u log on windows. If u can its not the memory. Its another problem.

If you can't get it to post...and you're sure you got it hooked up right..try fully clearing the cmos and then try to boot it....It would be alot easier out of the case.....

I just had a pc do some weird stuff from the video card...I yanked a 5200fx out of my Ga7NNXP rig (gigabyte) and pre-fire a DFI board...I had a hard time getting the DFI to boot but it finally did so....when I put the card back in the test rig....It would no longer post.....nothing...r & r'd it several times....finally a full cmos clear and it posted.....some are stingy

Coarse putting the cpu in with a "Framing" hammer instead of the usuall rubber mallet probably didn't help....

If you remove the battery, it needs to stay out for 30 minutes. Better yet, find the Clear CMOS jumper and move the jumper into the clear position for a few seconds, then put it back.

Make sure the computer is unplugged.
