Do you have SATA enabled in BIOS?
If no then enabled it and see if it is recognized. Once it is recognized you are going to need to install the SATA drivers with a floppy disk (put mobo cd in another computer and move the drivers onto the floppy) then when booting press the key when asked do you want to install additional drivers and do so. Then proceed installing windows onto the drive.

At least in my BIOS, under Advanced I believe you have options on enabling the SATA ports...

Not necessary. Your motherboard supports SATA, so it should work unless you have a flawed drive or motherboard SATA controller. Does the manual say anything about installing the drives? Most manuals have something about the installation of drives and components.

No I wouldn't do that...let's get this one working. I'm not sure if this makes a difference, but see what SATA port it's plugged in. Also, if there are any jumpers, consult the hard drive manual to see what the proper setting is.

I don't have a manual to my motherboard or hard drive.

I have 2 SATA ports on motherboard and have tried them both neither works.

seagate.com said the jumpers on the hard drive were for factory use only.

A cold boot on my computer does this:

Starts on first page where you can go into cmos
then
Scans IDE drives then says
No Array is Defined............................
Press ctrl - F to enter fast build utility or
press Esc to continue booting........

when you press Esc it goes to

Verifying DMI pool data....................

Boot from CD:

Boot from CD:

Disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter

Thats it.

Wait! No array?? Hmm do you have 4 SATA ports? 2 of those are no doubt a different color than the other 2 and are used for Raid only... try a different colord SATA port.

I looked at the manual online... You do in fact only have 2 SATA ports, However there is a jumper Jp4... 1-2 is Raid enabled and 2-3 is Raid disabled... verify its setting.
