It will work, but the PSU you chose is garbage. Your case might be good, but it's extremely low cost has me doubting the quality of its construction. Also, I'd choose ram from a different company, such as Corsair or Kingston.

Hmm... I just looked at your other thread. Dark Nova is right, don't start separate threads on the same topic.

You should look for an Antec case/PSU combo such as the Sonata or it's cheaper cousins.

What is wrong with the PSU? Its ATX 2.1 and had good reviews. I know about the ram and the case but i will live.

Stuey is not saying that your PSU will get fried or stop working, he tells you theres a bigger possibility with that powersupply specificly from that compagny, thats there are chances that it will go bad

Several people have already suggested PSUs that would be viable options. Besides the risk of failure and system-wide damage, a cheap power supply will not stand up to rigorous use and will not perform as great as a better one. A cheap PSU is not necessarily a bad one, but you have to be VERY careful when selected among units and you should NEVER shop primarily based on price.

power dosent really matter its the PSU from those comapnys that matters, anyway you should get at least 450W, 500W is good.

You will also need an operating system. The OEM version of Windows XP is going for 80-100 bucks and will be fine unless you need some feature from XP Pro.

You might be able to get it off newegg for cheaper than in a store. Besides, why wait to install Windows any longer after you build it?

It lacks fancy packaging, manuals, and telephone support... Which is why we are here. Do you really need a fancy box and telephone support for $100?

Quality motherboards will come with all the cables you need. The only possible item you might need is an extra IDE cable, if you're not buying a SATA hard drive. Most new boards only come with one, for your opticals.

Sounds like your low on money.

If your going to build, and want it to be good and last, get good quality stuff. Just save your money some more until you can improve some things on your list.

Just my 2-Cents....but yea it works.

You're still going to need your cable modem. If you pay for cable internet, then they should have given you a modem too.

Right. But you asked if your system had cable internet support. Technically, your motherboard has ethernet support, and your modem has "cable internet support". The two are not the same.
