Spyware Blaster for a guard.
Ewido for a scanner/guard. AdAware SE - a must have remover. Spybot Search and destroy - another must have remove and imunizer. Spyware Doctor - a personal favourite that words great for me. EDIT - I added some link.. Good Spyware blocking and removing tools. AdAware SE Search and Destroy Spyware Doctor Counter Spy Spyware Sweeper

Check out this web page. They list a bunch of spyware programs and rate them as well.
The thing with anti-spyware (or anti-virus) programs is you must keep them up to date. If you don't update the definitions on a regular basis the programs become useless and your system will become infected/infested. Cricket

ZoneAlarm just came out with anti-spyware. It's free for a 15 day trial. It seems to be catching things that Microsoft Anti-Spyware Beta. Pest Patrol, Ad-Aware, SpySweeper, Trend Micro and AVG misses. I have always liked ZoneAlarms firewall. I may go ahead and buy their anti-spyware software.
