dvd player
I built my machine, running windows XP servc pck 2. Using a teac cd/dvd reader. I have to reboot my machine in order for the device to see a dvd or cd?

You shouldn't have to reboot to read a DVD or CD... Could you describe your problem in more detail? Not sure what exactly what's going on.

if i put a dvd in it plays. take it out put another one in and the drive doesnt see it. When i click on the "f:" drive it says "f: is not accessible. incorrect function"

It might just be a cheap drive, there was a samsung drive in my old dell pc and it would just disapear from my device list sometimes and i would have to restart for it to be recognized again.
