No Display

When I turn my new build on all the fans start spining and it sounds like the hard drive and everything is working just fine, but I get no display. At first I thought the Monitor was the source of the problem because it was a few years old, so I switched it with a different one and I get the same results. Then I thought maybe the graphix card might be causing it, so I switched it with another and still no display. The AGP power cable is pluged in and I have checked several times to make sure it is seated firmly. Any suggestions??

Try this:

Also, list the system's specs, including power supply brand, model, and wattage rating.

Dual Opterons? You're using a server motherboard...do you have the proper power supply to go with that motherboard? You need a EPS12V power supply that has a 24 pin main motherboard power connector, a 8 pin motherboard power connector and a 4 pin motherboard power connector.

The Power Supply came with the case, but when I remove the power supply the only name on there is "Power More". I guess thats a cheap little generic company. The graphix card im putting in is a Radeon 9600 SE, I cant imagine that graphix card would require much power. The computer is going to act as a small server for me and a few friends.

Does that power supply have all 3 motherboard power connectors? If it doesn't you're going to have to replace it with a EPS12V power supply.

No it only has two, but my motherboard manual says that you may either use the 4 pin power supply or the 8 pin.

Is the main connector 20 or 24 pin?

Since the brand of the power supply is suspect, it could be DOA. If this were my server, I'd get the proper power supply for it.

its 20 pin. Ive ordered a 24 pin adapter, but that probably wont cut it. Ill pick that EPS12V power supply up when I can get a little more money in the bank. thanks

In this case, I think you are going to have to have a EPS12V unit, I don't think the one you've got now will cut it.
