The BEST Gaming Computer

Wow. Look at what i have found at newegg. i found the absolute best gaming computer for only 200 bucks. read the specs below, and you'll be suprised at what all you get for the low price of 200 bucks:

CPU: AMD Duron 1.8 Applebred 266MHz FSB 64KB L2 Cache Socket A Processor

link for monitor here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824160144

wow... how about that? that is a really good price for so many computer parts. i mean, the power supply is even under 10 dollars! RAM is only 10 dollars too, so that means you get the PSU AND RAM for only 20 dollars. That sounds like a heck of a deal right there.

This computer should VERY easily be able to handle all the newest games. It should run F.E.A.R and quake 4 with ease, very smooth. Heck, this computer is even better than an FX-57. Forget those when you got this to work with. Man, don't you guys wish you had this?

okay?

the reason why that thing is cheap is cuzz its socket a, nobody wants that obsolete technollogy, im pretty sure with the comp it also comps the "it will crash in 2 weeks" warranty too lol. The only thing i see good is the monitor, i bet that costs like 100-200bucks...maybe i should buy this comp, ditch everything, and keep the monitor

Edit:
wow .27mm dot pitch, ouch

I think he's joking, at least, I hope he is.

That PC is made up of some of the lowest quality parts available. PcChips is just awful. Windows XP can barely run with 128 MB of RAM. F.E.A.R. wouldn't even start up on that PC. The video card is not supported.

i think dells $299 are the cheapest, by that i mean faster and better then what u put. If you want a cheap but good built go with SOCKET A, but at least pick something around 2.0ghz, with a good 20pin psu..it probably will be around 300 but it will last (if u take care of it)..when it gets to the point where u wanna throw it out, then make a linux firewall out of it..ask ryan he knows a lot about this

i really hope your not serious about this... the whole point of this thread was to see what the cheapest, worse computer using parts at newegg was.

OK. This is my computer... i dont want a Dell, or Socket A... i just made this for fun, and this will be my computer:

Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego
1 GB (2x512) Corsair
250 GB SATA Western Digital
Asus A8N-SLI
eVGA 7800GT 256

lol im gonna go to dell and tigerdirect and look for the cheapest custom build comp. wonder how much itll be...

I might actually be building an uber uber uber cheap and crappy PC just so that I can start a small wireless hotspot off it for my house. If I do, I will post up the parts to take a chuckle at.

hey speaking of monitors:

are LCD's better than CRT's, life-wise?

do they also help reduce the stress on your eyes?

my uncle keeps telling me CRT's are better for both reasons but i think its the other way around

LCDs are usually easier on the eyes cause there is no "flickering" that CRTs experience. Life wise? I'm not really sure, but the lifetime of the monitor shouldn't really be an issue because by the time it dies it will be outdated and you'd want a new one anyways.

yea i was reading about taht, if u dont worry about ur life span of a CRT then dont worry about it on a LCD, unless ur like me where u wasted alot of time playing games... i burned out the backlight on my LCD cuz i played too many games lol

hey blue... i've noticed you know what your talking about when it comes to comps and hardware. so how come ya got a comp like the one in your signature?

i'd expect you to have like a top of the line one, cause you seem like one of those people

It's a rebuilt Dell (it'd be about 2 1/2 years old now), which was before I knew how to build a computer, so I didn't really know any better. Believe me, it's come quite a ways from where it was originally. Besides I'm not rolling in lots of cash. I'm hoping to upgrade the CPU/mobo soon and maybe build a new computer at the end of next year... But hey, it plays games very well and does what I want it to do.

Not everyone who works on computers will have a top of the line system. Some of us just use what we need. If you try to keep up with the latest and greatest stuff you'll go broke. Some of us have other things to do with our money.

The PC I use most of the time has these specs: Antec KS382 case, Antec 250 watt PSU, ABIT BH6 motherboard, PIII 600MHz, 512MB PC100 RAM, Matrox G200 video card, SoundBlaster AWE64 ISA soundcard, Seagate 40GB 7200 RPM HDD, Lite-On DVD burner, LG DVD drive, Panasonic floppy drive, WinXP Home. It ain't fast or fancy but it does what I need it to do.

I have other interests besides computers so I can't be spending all my money on newer, faster PC components. Plus I got a mortgage to pay, groceries to buy and utilities to pay for.
