Please help me, urgent..

Hi all,

My computer was fried a few weeks ago and I decided to go for a new custom. So today I went to Fry's and bought all my parts and what not, and my friends helped me put it together. We put it together smooth and well and everything seemed to be working fine until we tested it. First, the fans turned on and everything lit up ok, and after about 10 seconds, the system powered down. We kept trying, and sooner or later after messing with things here and there and fixing the jumpers (I think I fixed them at least) and resetting the cmos memory the system didn't turn off after 10 seconds. We should be getting bios by now but nothing was showing up. Then, I thought why not try and put the motherboard drivers cd into the drive? So, I did. I booted up and the bios actually appeared on the screen! I was so happy, I thought everything was good but unfortunately I had not plugged in a keyboard or mouse in and I had to turn the computer off and plug one in.

After that, it wouldn't even turn on after I plugged them both in via ps2. It soon turned on soon again and now it stays on and simply will not go to bios. I'm using the new A-bit AN8 SLI motherboard and it has this clock on it, and whenever I turn it on it reads something like CF, as if it is reflected in a mirror. To my knowledge it's just for temperatures, but I can't find in the manual what it means.

Also, here are my system specs.

AMD 64 3500+
1 GB Corsair 3200
200 GB Maxtor 7200RPM 8MB Buffer
PNY Geforce 6600GT
Raidmax Ninja Case
A-Bit AN8 SLI motherboard

Anyone know what I can do? I'm really frustrated and at a loss

First, is the heatsink seated correctly on the processor? Sounds like a could be a heat issue with the startup and then quick shutdown.

Secondly, if you are using a PSU that came with the case, get rid of it and get a quality unit from someone like Antec, Enermex etc.

You've got a blank screen? Try this:

The system doesn't turn off by itself anymore. Everything should be fine but I will try using the other method in that thread. Is it ok if I only have 1 gb stick of ram? Ok, I will try and see how it works, thanks.
