Consider a future upgradable PC build
Well my budget is kind of tight lately and I wish to build a new PC for the Christmas.
I am looking at socket 939 type motherboard to go as it offers amd64 and Sempron compatibilty which I think I can swap in a sempron now and then wait until the amd64 price goes down..or am i wrong? It was rather nice to have a built in graphics on board for now and I saw both nforce4 and ATi express that I don't know.Which one is better?I know when sticking in nforce means sticking on to nvidia and another way around for ATI. Need advice from u pros here.

I think S939 and A64 is the way to go, but we need an exact dollar amount to work with.
What will this computer be used for?

Well i consider getting a GREAT motherboard with like 4 ram slots and other stuff like that so you can just upgrade it next year. AMD 64 prices are not that high right now, and you would save more money just to buy it now. You will want at least 512mb of Ram (dual channel are faster) or a gig if you can afford it. (80.00 for a gig)
I need a price range like $800 or something to work with. |

You will not get very good gaming performance with on-board video. What type of games are we talking about?

for 800 dollars you can build a pretty solid computer with an athlon 64 processor
something like an athlon 64 3500 $200 $80 msi neo4-f motherboard no sli but you wont need it $80 1 gig (2x512) corsair valuselect ram $40 dvdrw $75 for antec case and 350w psu which should handle your computer $150 6600gt video card $80 operating system $30 keyboard and mouse monitor of some type 100-300 dollars build would be just a little over $800 |
