Ntldr missing

I was given a computer by my father and I thought I would be able to take my harddrive out of my old computer and swap it in to my new comp with no problem but when I start up my new one it says the ntldr is missing and when I put the harddrive back in to my old comp it works fine what do I need to do? I don't have a windows cd anymore so am I totally screwed? Thanks in advice

its really hard to take a hard drive out of one computer and put it in another and have it work
you have to get pretty lucky

i referenced the ntldr earlier today in this thread
http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=146814

you will need an xp cd
and im not even sure it will work because that is not the original computer that the hard drive was installed on
your best bet is to buy a copy of xp and reinstall
or get a new hard drive as well and install it on that
