First time builder compatibility check

Thank you for taking the time to check out my first build. I have done a considerable amount of homework on this subject so I hope that all these components will fit however building computers seems like one of those tasks that sometimes no matter how prepared you are "stuff" just happens. This is also quite a difficult topic to delve into until you can actually get your hands dirty, since communities exist of experienced PC builders exist on the internet, hopefully you can catch an oversight on my part before I commit too much money to the project.

I plan on adding a floppy drive as well.

Total: $826.69+Tax and Shipping

I am aiming to use the PC for moderate gaming (BF2 is my drug of choice). I upward mobility further along is also an appreciable factor as the demand on my system increases.

There are two questions that appeared to me when I was creating this.

Will the stock Antec PSU be sufficient or should I figure in the cost of a PSU, I would prefer to use the supplied PSU however if anyone knows anything it's something I will upgrade to save a headache.

The other issue comes with the SATA II/SATA 150 differential between my HDD of choice and Motherboard. From what I understand SATAII is interchangable with SATA 150 I may just have to rearrange some jumpers on installation.

Any help or additional comments would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Pro

OK first, good luck with your new build, the first is always the best. Everything is compatible no problem with that.

for your questions:
1) Antecs makes very good Powersupply, dont buy a new one, that one is good already
2) i dont quite understand what you mean by rearranging the jumpers, you chose an ATA HD, and there are no jumpers on a SATA HD. do you mean RAID with 1HD?

The 450 watt Antec will power that system easily.

SATA 300 is backward compatible with SATA 150. You don't have to do anything, just hook it up and go.

Why are you getting WinXP Pro? Do you need the extra networking features? If this is a standalone computer you should get WinXP Home. WinXP Pro does not perform better than WinXP Home, it just has more features.

I do actually have a large home network setup which is why I opted for XP Pro.

Thanks very much for checking my list.

All that I have left to do is sign the check.

Aaah...okay, you will need WinXP Pro. Just didn't want you to buy something you didn't need.
