What components for dvd recorder build?

What kind of components would it take to make a small pc to work as a dvd recorder to burn discs from saved tivo programs and copy dvd's? Or is it worth it and should just buy stand alone unit.

If you mean to build the whole PC, then it would probably be less expensive to just buy a standalone unit.
If you already have the PC you would need a DVD burner if you don't already have one.
You can get a pretty nice one with DVD and CD burning capabilities and software for $40-$50.
You can also get a card like this with TV Tuner and DVR functionality.
If you want to build the PC give us a price range to work with and someone will help you put a parts list together.

What kind of budget are you working with?

You just need a basic computer with a DVD burner, a video card that can hook up to the TIVO unit, lots of RAM and a large hard drive. The actual specs will depend on your budget.
