no monitor response
OK, I got my first self-build to fire up. power to everything. all fans running. now the monitor is in sleep mode and I cannot wake it up. HELP.

Might try this:
http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=132409 You are trying to see if the motherboard is shorting out with the case or a stray standoff. Also, please list the full system specs (including power supply brand and wattage).
