Trying to build a PC

Hello,

I'm trying to build a new PC from parts from two older PCs.

The components I've added to create the PC are two hard drives and a CD drive. The PC previously had a different hard drive, so when installing, these are the only two present. They both contain old data, and were not formatted before being added to the new PC.

Upon startup, I inserted my copy of XP Pro into the old CD drive, and waited for it to boot. All of the fans turn on, the power supply is running, the LEDs on the back of the case light up.

I can't see anything on the monitor, but I hear a series of several beeps.

How can I diagnose the error?
