PC won't start
i built the following build:
a XION II series (model#XON-103) the cheap 450 watt PSU that came with it hard drive: Diamond Max 10 6L20050 200GB SATA (oem) a mouse, keyboard, and monitor a DVD burner a mobile Athlon 64 designed for socket 754 ASUS K8N-E Socket 754 NVIDIA nForce3 250Gb ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail When I press power, The fans whir for an instant, but then shut off; I haven't gotten any beep codes, and nothing seems to make it start. Why won't it start? Is there a specific part that might be broken? |

the processor is a mobile Athlon 64 3000+ OEM
the RAM is Corsair Value Select RAM (2 times 1GB) I am not sure whether or not the heatsink is attached properly; how can I tell the difference? |

Try gently wiggling it around, if it doesnt move it is probably fine. Power off first and unplug everything attached to the computer from the wall, then hold the front power button in for several seconds to drain any residual charge before you start touching things inside the case.
Here is the CPU support list for the K8N-E, it shows a couple 3000+ processors, but doesn't mention mobile processors.
