Opinions on processor selection...

What would you do? Mostly for gaming but also want longevity before I want to upgrade. My motherboard will be ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard and video card will be 6800GT. These processors are same price but I wasn't sure if the dual core would be a good idea. Any opinions much appreciated. Keep in mind, this is not exclusively for gaming now but also for 2 years from now. Will games eventually utilize dual core?..etc...

I'd go for the 4000+. The cores in the 3800+ are siginificantly slower.

The X2's are meant for heavy multitasking. It wouldn't perform as well with gaming as the 4000. The performance gain of a 4000 would be hard to tell outside of benchmark software though. Even a 3800 venice core would be fine. I run a 3200+ venice and it handles everything I can throw at it.
