My first Rig Build. All Come help Please.

Hello I am going to build a new computer and just wanted to get some feedback and suggestions on my build! the spec's of this build are.. 3.4 ghz ( i heared 2.4ghz from AMD is the same as intel 3.4 ghz so thats why i said 3.4 ghz) 7800 GTX 2 GB ram 250 GB memory.. Its a cost of rounded off 2,100 American dollers from new egg ( links are down there to see the parts ) i just recently got 500 more dollers i can put in the comp so what should i do ? more ram..? instead of getting this 7800 GTX should i get a better one? and what else? so on etc! suggestions are greatly needed please ( its a gameing comp )

Looks good man, I would go with Corsiar XMS Series Ram though, a bit better than value.

2gb ram is plenty for awhile and you can alway buy more later if need warrants it. Corsair value select is fine if you don't plan to overclock.

You could upgrade to the 7800 gtx 512 mb but its way over $500.00. The 7800 gtx 256mb should be plenty and down the road, if you need to upgrade, just thrown in another 7800 gtx for SLi. That will extend the life of the system to 5 years at the least. Especially since most of the newest games don't support SLi yet.

Unless you are a fanatic (I know a few that are and spend some serious $$$ on their sound) about your sound the ACL850 on the mobo should be fine.

Ultimately I'd pocket the extra $500.00 for a rainy day.

The only place where you'll see a performance boost with XMS Ram is if you are doing hardcore overclocking...Value Select runs just as well under normal operation...

I'd give the onboard sound a go, you can always add one later.

Looks pretty good so far.

Is this true about the AMD vs Intel?

I have the DELL 19" LCD and I love it.

Looks good, I'd leave it as it is and pocket the $500 you received. As for a monitor, I'd second the motion for the Samsung 940B. I bought one about three weeks ago and it is absolutely outstanding. I game a lot, and there is no ghosting with this monitor at all. The response time is great, controls are simple, 3 year warranty and no dead pixels. Pretty tough to beat at the price, and Newegg has been running some killer specials on it lately.

That video card is for AutoCAD and other 2D drafting programs, it won't game well at all.

This is the best gaming video card right now.

Both video cards must be identical for SLI. Those are two different video cards.

Full list of all SLI certified video cards, motherboards and power supplies is at this link. Also a lot of other SLI information on that site. The one Cricket linKed is the best available now. 1 of those should be fine for now and in a year or two when games need more video card you could add another one, and it will probably be considerably cheaper than it is now.
You will need an SLI certified PSU off that list. The Antec Truepower TP II 550 watt would be a good choice.
