Motherboard and memory

What is a good motherboard brand... i dont know much about motherboards....
and i need help getting memory like what size i would need...
ill be useing my computer for gaming and i was thinking about getting a video card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102543 ATI Radeon x800XL.

If you can give me some good brands that are good to buy that would be helpful.

asus, and abit are good boards. intel also makes very stable boards. as for memory. if you want to go for gaming, at least a minimum of 512MB of RAM, if you want decent performance. If you get a motherboard with 4 DDR ram slots which supports dual channel mode, for example, you could get 4x 256MB sticks and get 1GB of ram. I think dual channel should still work under that setup. But if you want a good balance of performance and budget, aim for around 1 gig of RAM.

THat ASUS is an SLI board. You don't need that unless you are going to use two video cards. The non sli version of that board would be fine.
For the RAM 2 X 512 would be a good setup, It leaves 2 slots open if you want to add more.
