award beep code

cant get my new build to start..got a bunch of beeps too fast to count than a two tone continuous beep like a brittish police car now nothing . any suggestions... using EPox mother board and pent 4 3.0 gig processor and pc 2700 512 mb memory. tried 2 different video cards and sticks of memory.

Recheck the heatsink attachment and orientation. That sounds like an overheat alarm for the cpu.

I once had a board give me a two tone beep for 3 things:

1) Processor not installed correctly (or overclocked too much, heh)
2) Processor overheating
3) A PSU rail was drooping too much (in my case it was the +5 going down to under 4.5v)

So, try reseating your CPU and possibly your RAM, Award BIOS's often like to beep about RAM errors as well And if that doesn't work, try a different PSU (after reseating the heatsink like PR suggested).
