Don't use the power supply that comes with that case, buy a good quality ATX 2.0 power supply separately.
The rest of the parts look okay. What will the main use be? Cricket

You could get the harddrive with a 16Mb cache for better performance.
Operating System: Get the OEM version of XP or XP Pro, about $100 less than the retail version. Assembly pointer: Don't hook the cardreader's USB to the motherboard untill after you have The OS installed. Just hook the standard floppy connector up. An ASUS board would be a little better quality if you have them over there.

Ok thanks guys
, I was thinking of up-rating the power supply anyway ...is 450W okay? as i thought the pc uses 50% more power in startup then normal, and its main use will be gaming.I also have been talking to some freinds who say PCI is a lot better than AGP ,I think he said the reason was it writes quicker....dose this make a big performance difference And we do have ASUS boards here i think (:P) |

If your main use will be gaming, I think you'll be disappointed with a 6200 video card. To play modern games like Far Cry acceptably, you'll want at least a 6600GT. A 6800GT would be much better still.
Your mates are probably talking about PCI-express, not PCI. PCI-express is the new graphics bus; AGP is being phased out. It would be wise to get a PCI-express motherboard so that you will be well-sorted for future upgrades. This is a very good PCI-express motherboard from ASUS: http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=95458 As for power supply, both total wattage and brand name are important. You want a power supply from a quality maker. This Antec case comes with a high-quality power supply: http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=93403 |

As long as you get a good quality power supply with at least 400 watts you should be fine.
The rest of the parts look okay to me. Cricket

I have heard lots of bad things about eBuyer recently in the *UK* press, about bad customer service, faulty items, and even them just not bothering to deliver it at all. The only other good place in the UK online to buy is www.overclockers.co.uk that I have come across, it may be a little more pricey but I found it was worth it to save on the risk.
Actually come to think of it here are a few more;- Aria Maplin Komplett PlanetMicro MicroDirect Chillblast Savastore The Cooling Shop Kustom PCs Novatech and theres always eBay but make sure you buy one with a waranty, from a powerseller if possible Last edited by nickweb31; 12-13-2005 at 03:50 PM. |
