A gaming rig for only $600? What kind of games does your friend play? He won't be able to get one of the better video cards with that budget so he might not be able to play the latest games with all the eye candy turned on.

Yeah, you aren't going to be able to build anything for $600 that's going to be able to play those games decently and use quality parts. $1000 will be plenty to build a decent gaming rig.

I concur. But, go for a $1,000 case: not $1,000 for the entire computer.

You can use the search button above the forum and enter 600 gaming, and that might have the thread you were looking for. But 600 isn't very realistic for a decent gaming machine and thier budgets usually end up having to be increased.

Sorry for the misnomer, Cricket - I meant $1,000 for everything in the case (including the case)! A $1,000 dollar case alone: lol, that would have to be made of titanium and have a built-in liquid cooling system, among other things.

windows not within that budget, this will do http://ubuntulinux.org/ just make sure the games he plays will work with it
$600 is the very minimum for a gaming pc, $800 is usually more reasonable venice +3000 for $135 http://www.clubit.com/product_detail...temno=A1906531 this might be why ones hard to find for a reasonable price http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=28250 "You can see that the company has stopped production of Sempr0n 2500+, 3100+ and Athlon 64 3000+, 3200+ and 3500+, all in Processor-In-Box (PIB) format. At the end of the list, all Opterons using Socket 939. Is this a preparation for early Socket M2 launch? µ" |
