I got the new PS working but now when I power it on I have trouble trying to get it to do anything. I have to play with the case buttons to get it to come on then once it does then it lasts about 30 secs. then goes off. I have no screen or anything even though the onboard video is plugged into a monitor. It doesn't beep or anything. I was thinking maybe I have a wire or 2 turned around wrong in the power area of the board or could it have to do with incorrect jumper settings on the drive or what please tell me what I am doing wrong.
Thanks, Sean

If this is one you built, use Hal's thread to t/s it. You have to remove everything from the case in order for this to work.

Then check to see if there are any standoffs in the motherboard mounting tray that shouldn't be there. The only standoffs installed should be the ones that align to the mounting holes in the motherboard.

OK that has already been checked I wonder if maybe if something was wired wrong (positive and negatives) plugged in backwards with the USB and audio would that mess the board up because I did that earlier with the power part of the plug ins before realizing i and fixed that

If it works outside the case and not inside, reinstall only the core components. Don't connect any usb/audio connectors or add any pci cards, or cd drives. If it will boot that way, begin adding one component or connector at a time and boot again. When you find which component or connector causes the problem you can address how to fix it. For now you need to use a one-at-a-time approach in order to isolate the hardware that is causing the problem.

Is it true that if you incorrectly wire a USB port wrong you can destroy the mobo

I don't know about "destroy" but I have seen wipe out a usb header. The mobo was still usable but I had to install a usb/pci card for the extra headers. I've found that it's best to not connect any usb devices until after the operating system is installed.
