I was looking at that one too for my sli build. It is listed as sli capable, not ready... so I was hesitant to purchase it. I'm waiting on this one > http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merch...e=nvidia-PCI-E which is listed as sli ready. Am I wrong here or what??

Ok, most of my parts arrived today. the only things that I have yet to recieve are the PSU, the HDD, and the case. According to the tracking number on the case and what UPS is showing, the thing hasn't moved since it arrived at Ontario, California on the 13th. Should i be worried. Also, is there anything I should be doing right now? Can the parts stay outside of the giant box they arrived in and be stacked up near my dell?

I'd give it a couple days. If it's got the case in it, it's going to be a big box and might take longer.

You could start reading manuals and familiarizing yourself with the building procedure (if you haven't built a computer before, or in a while).

Keep the parts in their own boxes and anti-static bags, and they'll be fine.

EDIT: If that box is coming from California, it's probably going to have to travel cross-country on a freight train. So the box could be almost there or just hasn't been scanned in yet.

Yes, this is my first build. Question about grounding myself, since most of my house is carpet except for kitchen and bathrooms, would standing on a flat piece of carbord act as a good grounding surface?

Yes, the rest of the parts are coming from California. The Hard Drive and PSU are in transit to Richmond from Philly right now. The case had an origin scan yesterday in Ontario, CA. at 3:58 AM, nothing appears to be happening now.

I guess the only manual I really have available to study is the one that came with the motherboard. Everything else is wrapped in plastic. BTw, 120mm fans are giant up close.

You can download manuals from the parts makers websites.
Static, you can get an antistatic wriststrap.

Case, PSU, and HDD arrived last night. Got everything assembled fine and it booted up with no problems. Now all I have to do is configure the bios and install xp.

Question: What is a good way to clean up the mess of wires in my case?

You can fold up any unused ones and put cable ties on them. Also tuck the excess ones away in some unused area like an open drive bay or where ever they will be out of the way. Just watch that you don't stick them where they rest on anything that puts out heat or where a fan can get at them.

I take the extra power supply cables that aren't being used and wire tie them in a bundle. Depending on the case, I either tuck them between the power supply and the top most cd drive or, if there's room I tuck them on top of the top most cd drive. I fold the floppy and ide cables to minimize their wandering and tuck them into some open area above/below the hard drive or floppy drive. Front panel cables/wires get wire tied in a tight bundle and routed around the bottom of the case. If the case comes with extra ide led cables (like most Antec cases) I remove the front of the case, bundle the unused ide led cables in a tight tie wrap and tuck them between the case front panel and the steel front of the case. Then reattach the case front.
