1st Build Design/Gaming Rig! $1300

Hi! I looked through the forums for my answer, but I thought that my situation calls for a more in depth analysis.

I need help compiling a list of parts to create a system for using adobe cs2suite, 3dstudiomax, corel painter, etc. I also want try out the latest pc games and mmo's out there! ^^

Unfortunately, I am a dunce when it comes to this sort of thing, so a friend from school will be helping me. However, we are on christmas break and I can't get a hold of him. I noticed how helpful everyone is here, so I decided to register and ask for your opinions:

Budget: $1300 give or take for the system. OS/Moni/Key/Mouse not included.

Dreams: - Ability to multitask well
- 10,000 rpm HDD
- Additional, 7200 rpm HDD for storing junk, art, music
- Lots of RAM. (2gb?)
- mid level sound card for musical inspiration.

The computer will be accompanied by a 19' lcd display, 16.7 mil colors , 8ms.

I am a complete blank when choosing parts, lacking knowledge in what's compatiable with what. Those EvGa cards have a pretty design, BTW
