Please look at my new PC's build

I'm going to be building a gaming computer this year over the holidays, and I'd just like you guys to look over these parts and provide some feedback.

Western Digital Caviar SE WD1200JS 120GB
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+
eVGA 256-P2-N516 Geforce 7800GT
ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe
Crucial Ballistix 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM
ASPIRE X-CRUISE -BK Black
ULTRA Xconnect 500W UV Blue PSU
NEC Black IDE DVD Burner Model ND-3550A

Anything that could use an upgrade, or is unecessary?
thanks

Everything looks fine except the power supply. Ultra X-Connect power supplies aren't very good. If you want a serious power supplies to power that SLI rig, get a SLI certified SeaSonic S12-500 ATX12V.

That is a great PSU cricket mentioned.

If your on a tight budget, you can look at http://www.slizone.com/object/slizone2_build.html for all of the SLI-approved PSUs.

The Antec TPII 550 is cheapest (price, not quality!). I believe it can be had for around $90 American

Go for a 3800X2 or a 4400X2, the 4200X2 is a waste of money. If you get the 3800, get a 7800GTX as well.

thanks for the reponses... but about what steve said, would I notice a more signifigant increase if I went with a 4400+ or a 3800+ and used the money go for a gtx? Also, the case comes with 2x 80mm fans, which is imo a cheap move by aspire :P. Know any good 120mm fans that I could get for it?

Well if you get the 3800 and the GTX then you will ahve a high end system right there. The only increase you'll get with the 4400 is a larger L2 cache and a higher clock speed. So if you do alot, and I mean alot, of multi-tasking then I say get the 4400. But if you mostly game and do low-medium multitasking then go with the 3800.

You can put a total of 5 fans in that case. If you want to max it out, get 2 more 80mm fans.

Ok, I've changed a few things on my build list after hearing what all you guys have to say...

Western Digital Caviar SE 120GB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 1GHz FSB Socket 939
eVGA Geforce 7800GTX 256-P2-N527-AX
ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe ATX AMD Motherboard
Crucial Ballistix 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM PC 4000
ASPIRE X-CRUISE -BK Black
SeaSonic S12-500 ATX12V 500W
NEC Black IDE DVD Burner Model ND-3550A
Saitek Black Wired Eclipse

.. All of this puts the PC just above the 1500 dollar mark, when I wanted to stay below it but I think the quality power supply and the GTX is worth it.

You forgot the operating system. The oem version of Xp home should be fine.
You might need a floppy drive during the build process.
