System doesnt boot to windows right away
Well its a new problem thats started to occur again (the first time was when I first built my PC and the next morning I booted it and it wouldnt load to windows)
Heres the routine. I get up in the morning hit the power button on the PC and it sits at the ASUS screen for 2-5 mins then boots to windows slowly. It didnt do that for over a week and now it doing it again. Other than the 3 blue screens its given me then rebooted it runs perfectly fine. My Specs: ASUS A8n SLI Deluxe AMD 4400+ X2 Dual Core eVGA 7800 GT 256 16x pci-e Audigy2 ZS Sound Card 2 GB Mushkin High Performance Ram (did a memtest and it passed) 80gb Seagate Barracuda Sata HD( did a hd test and it came out fine) ALso everything under "Other Devices" under device manager is flagged with a yellow question mark. I updated the chipset drivers but it still doesnt work. Any help will be greatly appriciated on trying to figure out why my computer wont boot to windows sometimes. thanks, Tiir |

Often, at that screen, is where USB problems occur. Try unpluging your USB device(s) and try again. Sometimes it is also the USB drivers or just the mobo searching. You can get more info on what's hanging if your turn off the Asus logo and see what is loading when it hangs.

Well I think I finally figured out whats caushing windows to sit at those windows so long. Woke up this morning and turned on the computer and it did the same thing sit at the Asus screen, I rebooted 4 times and it still sat there. So I was like *** I saw that my printer was on and decided to shut it off, and the minute I shut off my printer the keyboard lights flashed and windows booted.
I will try it again later and see if thats what causing it. But could this possibly be thr problem since the printer was on and I dont have my software installed for it its getting confused with the USB connection and wont boot windows...After all this hassle I was going to reformat and install everything one by one to figure out the problem, but Im hoping this is it because its simple lol Thanks, Tiir Last edited by Tiirshak; 12-19-2005 at 08:39 AM. |

If you mean the printer was plugged into your PC and no software installed for the printer..........Yes that was most likely the problem.
