Yes, and yes.

BTW, your OS link goes to a page for full systems... but seeing as it does say something about windows XP professional, I'm guessing thats what you are leaning towards

You are still missing RAM, as well as optical drive(s), and you should probably throw in a floppy, they arent too expensive, and you might need it later

Well, for starters yes it is all compatible, but you are missing RAM (pc3200 DDR400) and may I suggest a floppy drive, they come in handy... and what is this build going to be used for, and also like weremonkey said... you will need some opticals.

Yes I am. BTW, should I spend 50 dollars less and go with Home Edition? Or is Professional a big step forward. And is Media Center 2005 just as good for gaming as XP is? I already have ram, and floppy drive. Oh and CD, dvd rives. This build is going to be for gaming. I am on a budget, so this build is a great price. It should last me for a while. Although, I know that the CPU is not great.

Really depends on the use of the PC.. if you need the extra networking abilities of Pro then go for it.. but home should suit any "home user" and media center (never used it) comes with some added features like media programs and the such... but I am sure someone else can back that up as I am not 100% sure what comes packaged with the media version.

Your motherboard will have USB on its panel... so if you don't mind going in behind than that isn't a problem; your case also says it has a front USB port... and in regards to the second part

Cases don't come with flash drives, but if you are saying you need USB for those then the case can handle it as well as your motherboard... and if you are asking for flash drives I have a really nice Kingston Data Traveler I would would recomend.

Can you please give me the name, so I can look it up in newegg? I need it for my digital camera, so I can put the memory stick inside.

And what do you think of this sound card?

Good price?

What about this? Do current programs/games work on this? Do you recommend it over normal xp? My CPU should work with this since its 64bit.

You don't need a sound card. Most motherboards come with decent-good onboard sound, try it out for a while and if it isn't working out, then get a sound card. Plus, you can save up for an X-Fi.

From what I've heard, you should stay away from that, it seems to have quite a few problems

But is the on board soundcard good for gaming? I am into 3d animation and gaming, so I need parts to suffice both categories. Reason I am getting a sound card is to have high def sound. I already have 5.1 speakers, so it would be a waste with onboard sound.

What do you guys think of service pack 2? is it better than 1? I heard it gives problems.

I would hold off on the X64.. there aren't sufficient drivers for it yet to make everything run properly.. normal XP home should suffice. That is a nice soundcard... but I would give onboard a try first like mentioned above, but a soundcard is always a nice addition for gaming.
The drive I have is USB pen drive, I must have misunderstood, and it isn't a flash drive in the sense that I think you are reffering too... are you talking about the little cards which you put in cameras? For those I really have no clue.

Wouldn't be a waste at all, I'm doing the same right now. What speakers do you have?

I do have a Creative labs live soundcard, I installed in my old PC. I should just use that then. I am just hoping the 7800 lasts a long time. Only reason I actually got it, is because its a package with the evga motherboard at newegg. I am not going to buy from pcclub. At new egg, all the parts mentioned besides the sound card are $958. BTW, thanks for all your help everyone. Great community I am great I found this site. I am a first time builder, so if you have any tips it would be greatly appreciated.
BTW, does the motherboard come with the cables for the HDD, and the drives?

I have altec lensing 5.1 speakers with a subwoofer. I don't know how many watts it is. I got it a year ago, and can't find the box.

I changed my post after i read some reviews. Oo well, instead of getting that card though he could just go with onboard until he saves up enough for an X-fi.

No not the X-Fi elite, that's just pointless for you to have.

I was talking about the X-fi Xtrememusic. $120.

If you need to be able to use several different types of media cards, you might consider getting a card reader, or a floppy/card reader combination. That would let you access your different cards, cameras, or whatever without having to install the individual software for all of them.
