What motherboard are you using?

And what wires are you trying to get hooked up?

This is where a digital camera comes in handy...should have taken pictures of the wiring and connections before you took everything apart.

Need better pictures too...yours are way too blurry to do any good. If you're getting real close to the parts, try using the Macro setting for close up photography.

I just downloaded the AV8 manual and it's pretty clear where to connect the wires from the front of the case.

Exactly what wires are you having problems with?

Where do you get no sound? Through the back ports? or the front panel ports?

You'll have to install the sound drivers too.

Read the Mother Board Manual....If you do not have one you can download the pdf version from there web site...

Check to make sure you have the power cord to the speakers pluged into the wall socket...next make sure the speaker 8mm jack is pluged into the light green on board port... turn the speaker power on... make sure the sound drivers are loaded....click the volume icon next to the clock and make sure the volume is midway and not muted.....Or only mutes will hear it..

Edit: forgot...check the onboard jumpers against the manual for "correct" configuration....front or rear operation...

That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure. I'm assuming it worked before.

Did you have the front panel connectors hooked up before? And if you don't now, you'll either need to hook them up or replace the two jumpers on the pins (reference the manual).

The wires for the top audio connections, are they all individual connectors?

Try this:

mic-vcc = pin 4

mic-in = pin 1

line-l = pin 10

gnd. = pin 2

ear-l = pin 9

ear-r = pin 5

line-r = pin 6

No, those are PCI slots, for say a sound card or a network card.

But I *think* they go to the left and just below of the second PCI card (from the top). Above those two large black connectors.

Could you list off what each pin (from the case) is labeled as? (like EAR-L or MIC-IN).

Don't post images directly in your post, provide a link. Large in-line images will be removed and replaced with links by one of the mods if you don't do this yourself.

See my previous post for help with the audio wires.

Oh, my bad. OK, I downloaded the manual from the ABIT website, and it looks like what Cricket posted is it.

Refer to the manual, page 2-12 and there is a diagram located the front panel pins, and the pin definition (so pin 1, pin 2, are layed out for you).

Stick the other ground connector on pin 7.

After you get everything hooked up and working, take a couple of digital pictures of the connections and keep the image files in a safe place so you can go back to them if necessary.

Page 2-2? The USB headers are shown on page 2-10 of the manual I downloaded. Page 2-2 shows CPU and heatsink installation.
