SATA Problem

I got my pc up but my hdd which is a Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 80gb SATA isn't detected when running windows setup. I have the drivers for it on a floppy and loaded it using F6 but windows still doesn't detect it. My mobo is a ChainTech VNF4/ULTRA Zenth VE which supports sata with the drivers loaded, so I have no idea why it doesn't recognize my hdd? I have enabled raid and sata in my bios and disabled the IDE HDD settings since I don't need them. I'm guessing the hdd is defective which is fine cause I can return it and get either another sata or ide but maybe it's just me doing something wrong, well I'm wondering if anyone could help me out if possible?

If youre using only one hard drive, you do not need to enable RAID. RAID is used primarily for data redundancy. Dont install anything from the floppy, Windows will see the SATA, since its a native component on the nForce4 chipset. Just pop in the drive and go.
