Please help....

Well, about 2 months ago the family's PSU went out so I replaced it, and when i was booting it up nothing happened on the monitor, I thought it wsa the video card but I tried it in my computer and it worked. I tried re-seating the card in the family computer but still nothing, so i next thought the Motherboard was (or at least the AGP slot), I happened to have a spare motherboard (which I know works), so i stripped the old mobo and put eveyrthing in the mother board, when i had everything in, i started the computer, it came on but still nothing on the screen, I tried booting it with just the video card and RAM (in case the other components were sending a error. But still nothing. Whats the chance of the RAM or CPU causing this? Please help.

Are you getting any beeps ,fans running? Sound as if the psu is not wired up properly or the voltages on the pins are not correct. check the plugs and wire colors on the old ps compared to the new on the mother bo ard plug

It can go either way, i take it you have no computer to test either the ram or cpu with? Is there a local computer shop by you? If so id bring them the RAM and CPU and have them test it (most usually do it for a small price), or at least just have the RAM tested and then the only thing left is the CPU.

Curious though, what PSU did you replace the fried one with?

And is this a custom built? or pre-built?

Edit: Also can you try the new PSU in a known working computer? Just to narrow it down that its not the new PSU

Try this. You must remove the motherboard from the case when doing this. Don't hook up anything but the motherboard, CPU, heatsink, video card, RAM, PC case speaker, keyboard, monitor and power supply. You're trying to determine if your core components are good or not.

Well, the PSU didnt really die, just so happened that while I was reinstalling window, the fan went out and i didnt know until i took the windows CD out of the CD-ROM and I could feel the heat coming out, so I pulled the plug and opened it up and it was really hot. I was thinking since I changed out everything except the processor and/or RAM it would have something to do with that. And the only computer shops out here are just dirty, as in they work on computers and do physical damage to the mobo or other component
