That's going to be tough since a videocard that will play those games at decent frame rates will already set you back a couple hundred dollars by itself.

As Floppyman inidcated, not gonna happen for $300. You'll exceed the $300 with just a video card, motherboard and power supply. We tend to recommend high quality parts here to prevent headaches later on. Recommending a bunch of low priced, low quality parts just to cut corners will ultimately hurt you more than help. Your clan needs to win a couple more $300 tournaments before you consider building a good gaming machine.

Agreed, you could barely build a low-quality, decent gaming build with $300.

Is there my any chance you can savage some extra computer parts or try to do some deals with local computer stores... such as stick a huge "Bob's PC" sticker on the side adn wear advertise covered shirts in exchange for a discount or hardware?
I know may seem like a far out idea, but depending on the success and competition that exists between the computer stores in your area you might have a good chance. Also consider doing some sort of fund raiser to tally up some money - like perhaps organize a LAN party at your local community center and charge 15$ to get in and have everyone who wants to play bring their PCs and make sure it is set up with a decent router and the works. These are just ideas because for a good gaming machine which will give you the edge over your competition you will be looking at well over 300$ - I have paid 10 times that for my gaming rig (but I went overkill )
