Im BAck!!!!

hey! its me, please ... dont bow, a simple applaude would suffice. but GIJesus is BACK! and guess whos with him??? mister 100 dollar check! w00t w00t! so, i was reading thru my last thread,[very not computer savvy and need a gaming comp ] and i noticed on my excel parts list that im still minus sum speakers, but then, in a brilliant epiphany, i realized that there is an alternate route! headphones! now, can i plug the headphones straight into my tower or do i have to buy speakers to use headphones? and what are the pros and cons of headphones (i mean the kind w/ a microphone and stuff) also, wat are good brands? thank you!

also, after reading the delicious wit of CAD (ctrlaltdel-online.com) i realize i have a severely limited gaming vocabulary, for example, what is "overclocking"?

You dont have to have speakers to use headphones. Just plug them into the headphone jack on your soundcard (or motherboard sound connectors). Sorry i cant adequately describe the process of overclocking for you but there are plenty who can.

Overclocking is basically operating your computer faster than it is desinged to run. Ie, running your 3GHz processor at 3.4GHz...

Pardon?

Overclocking induces more stress on components, adds more heat, and reduces the lifespan of parts. Also, if you go to far, it's possible to fry something. The general rule of thumb is: "Don't overclock anything you can't afford (and aren't prepared) to replace".

most common would be change the multipliers or increase the FSB (HTT).
