Heatsink installed correctly?

I just started building my PC today; could anyone tell me if this looks normal?

The lever seems to be bent in an odd way; however this is the only way it will fit on.

Send a message via AIM to FLG
We cant tell if it "looks" normal, because if someone just placed it on it would "look" normal. What are your CPU temps? (from the bios).

The maker of the HSU probably has installation pictures on their web site.

And you shouldn't post a pic directly in your post...you should provide a link to it instead. If you don't do this then one of the mods will come along and do it for you.

Which heatsink is that?

This is the retail heatsink that came with the X2 4400+. I don't have anything hooked up yet, just installing the main components. Sorry about the pic, I will link it next time.

I think as long as you're sure the bar inside the heatsink, the one that rotates as you lock the clip, has actually rotated, you should be fine. You shouldn't be able to move the heatsink at all once locked.

The only real test is to go straight into bios on boot, and check the temperatures.

If you go to the AMD web site there are a couple of neat videos you can download showing you exactly how to fit your cpu & heat sink.
