Question Power Supply Worries

Hello I just ordered my hardware and im worrying if i should by a new power supply for my build. Here is my case (down bellow)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811147011

It only has a 400w supply of juice...and i have a pretty good mobo wich is below and im wondering if these 2 things are even compatible...please god say yes!

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131540

I also want to upgrade my video to a 6800 pcie. Also its going to have a amd athlon 64 3700+ cpu. I really really dont want to screw this build up at all. Also i have 512 mb 2700 pc memmory wich i believe is ddr is that compattible with my mobo? the mobo link is on here so please look!! Thanks for your time.

ok, answer for the PSU in that Rosewill case is : " Not really " . If you wanna run with A64 3700+,GeForce 6800, U gotta get some better PSU than the one that comes with the case...It's got 400Watts but only 17Ampers on +12V rail, and recommendations for A64 are around 25Ampers ...
So You might wanna look for some better PSU for your rig...
2 +12V rails = better ...

And for the Memory - It would be probably compatible but it would be better if you could get PC3200 and then buy another 512MB and both sticks the exact same ones...
If you have any other Q's just post it here and we'll be glad to help...

Refer to this thread for good PSU's,

http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=131195

And refer to this if you plan to go with SLI

http://www.slizone.com/object/slizon..._powersupplies

A PSU in the mid to upper 400's will work fine, maybe a bit more if you plan to go with SLI.

Um still I don't agree on that PSU u got with the case ...
Take a look : http://www.rosewill.com/RosewillPhoto/11-147-011-10.jpg
It's got ridiculously high Ampers on its +5V rail and like I said It's got ONLY 17A on its +12V...That means it could be unstable with your system
It's not ALL about the Wattage...

That Rosewill power supply is a rebadged L&C power supply, one of the worst power supply makers out there. Best to get a power supply off the good list that FLG linked to. You never want to run your computer with a cheap poor quality power supply.

Luke, the higher amps on the 5v rail are simply because less votage=higher amperage avalible. But if you check out the PSU thread, Roswill is under the "Bad" list.

Edit: Cricket kinda beat me to it, btw cricket wasent aware rosewill were also rebagged L&C psu's, and L&C are usually rebadged DEER's.

Ugh thanks guys, I knew that Psu was badluck when i laid my sleepy eyes on it. I noticed that the psu is a 20 pin connector and the mobo has a 24 pin main connector. I take it thats like fitting a whale in a jaquzi?

If the motherboard has a 24 pin power connection you'll need a ATX 2.0 power supply (has a 24 pin motherboard power connector). Get a good quality 24 pin ATX 2.0 power supply to avoid power related headaches.

Ok well this is what i just got today. I went to bestbuy witch had totally taken advantage of my money and abused the prices and got a dynex 500w psu. Here the specs on it.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1108126220085

I hope it actually was worth my xmas money haha.

P.S. The psu smells like paint haha.

I really think you should have went with a known good PSU in the link provided in my above post. The best buy website dosent list the voltage specs, so its pretty mutch useless.

It may be a decent power supply. I would have been more alarmed if you bought a 500 watt power supply for less than $50.

Dynex site. They are apparently a BestBuy proprietary brand. No manual for that PSU and no specs either. For that price it should be good, but hard to be sure.

Steel IM'ed me and read me off the specs, its got 2 seperate 12v rails..if i remember one is rated at 18A the other at 16A...which sounds fine. Also it does have a good amount of weight to it (which is a good sign)...it sounds good, but only time will tell.
