2nd build recommendations
I'm going to build a computer for my parents and i'd appreciate hardware recommendations.
they use the regular office applications, online bridge, instant messaging, internet surfing, file downloading and dvd burning. I'd like them to be able to create dvd format dvd's with all their photos and movies (so i guess that requires a bit of encoding). I'm not sure about the budget yet but i figure around the 1000-1100 (canadian). Thanks.

AMD or Intel?
On-board video? Do you have it spec'd out yet? If you do, post your parts list. Cricket

undecided about amd/intel but i think i'm leaning towards intel for them.
I could build them an amd system similar to mine: antec sonata 2 asus a8ne 1gb corsair value select (2x512) amd 3700+ (i have a 3500+) seagate barracuda 100/200 GB (i have 250GB) nec dvd+rw sony floppy I have an evga 6600gt but they definitely don't need that so i was thinking something along the line of x300/x600/allinwonder or an nvidia equivalent. For an Intel system, I have no clue but would appreciate recommendations. |
