No image on screen???
So I stripped some parts from my Dell Dimension 8100 when I built my new pc. I am now trying to fill the gaps with parts I have lying around to give the pc to my mother. Right now the only change I am trying to make is to replace the vid card with a new one. I am replacing an ATI Radeon 9800 128MB with a 32MB Nvidia MX 200. When I try to boot up, I get no picture on the screen. I don't know if the mobo is not recognizing the card and if it isn't then why it isn't recognizing the card. I really don't know where to start in figuring out this problem. Anybody who can shed some light on this would be truly awesome. If you need any more info just let me know. Thanks!

No Luck
Now I just pulled this card from a pc before installing it so I know that it is a working card. That is unless I did something so screw up either the card or my dell. Any other suggestions before I try buying a new card? Quote:

Did you Uninstall the 9800 in the Device Manager before you removed it? This will effectively remove the ATI drivers. If the ATI drivers are still there you're probably experiencing a conflict with the new nVidia card. Try reinstalling the 9800 and Uninstall any drivers from the Add/Remove Programs area and then Uninstall the card from Device Manager. Don't reboot between these operations.

Would that have an effect on the bios or post? I am trying to start anew without the hard drive that was on the machine before. My problem is that I am not getting any picture on the screen so that I can go into the bios, and then do a new install of windows. Btw, when I boot up I don't hear any beeps or sounds or anything from the machine going through post. It seems that I remember it beeping at least once when I used to use the pc. Is this a bad sign?
