mobile athlon 64

I have the Asus K8N motherboard. I purchased a mobile athlon 64 3000+, only to realize that it won't start; only the regular athlon 64 3000+ plus is listed as compatible. Is there anything I can do to make the processor work with my motherboard?

Does it even fit in the socket?? The mobile version is for laptops, and I havn't actually seen one up close but I always assumed the mobile version was different and would not even fit into the socket of a regular desktop motherboard...

The processor fits in the socket perfectly.

Mobile processors generally run on a significantly lower voltage than desktop processors. I don't know if you can get around that or not, but i doubt it.
