Boom monitor in power save mode

rebuilt pentium 3 to intel D 340 2.93GHZ Processor & 512 MB PC3200 memory Intel socket 478 ATX Replaced Power supply to 350watt atx. at boot up the monitor is in save power mode can not activate using pc. checked video card it is the old one from original build not sure on what it is. have the cpu fan installed all fans working light on motherboard computer seems to be running moved bios jumper from 1-2 to 2-3 no differents used another monitor no change HELP?

Try this, you are trying to see if the motherboard is shorting with the case. The motherboard must be out of the case to do this.

Also, could you list the full system specs?

intel d865perl socket 478 atx motherboard with an intel celeron D 340 processor & 512MB Pcmemory maxtor 40gig 7200 rpm hard drive floppy axt 350 watt power supply cpu cooling fan sound blaster sound card 19 inch Dell monitor
original dell pentium 3 xps just changed items above up to the hard drive that is oem and floppy and sound card and graphic card and CD all original.
removed motherboard as you suggested no change monitor in save power mode activate using pc ,but i can not any other ideas. Thank You

When you installed the new power supply did you make sure to also connect the smaller 4 pin power cable?

I found the video card not compatable with the new motherboard bought an APG 8X it worked.
when rebuilding a computer don't try to cut back on the parts needed. i did a it cost me time.

What video card were you trying to use? Seems a bit odd, unless you were using a 3.3V AGP card or somehow got a PCI-E card into an AGP slot and didn't fry aything.
