First build, some small errors
Hey.
I finally got all my parts to build a new machine to replace this hunker. DFI Lanparty UT NF4 Ultra D Sapphire Radeon x800GTO2 2gb Geil value ram (2x1gb dual channel) Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego Core Antec Truepower 2.0 430w PSU 2x 80gb Seagate Barracuda ATA/IDE HDDs Antec SLK3000B case I built it fine, got it to boot, installed windows XP SP1, a-ok. installed AVG antivirus and go to update it, and as I do, I get a PROCESS_HAS_LOCKED_PAGES BSOD. Hit the switch on the power supply and wait for windows to boot again, but it hangs at the welcome screen before displaying the user accounts. I figure it's obviously an AVG issue and going into safe mode and uninstalling might fix that problem. Another issue I have is that windows sometimes stops doing anything when at the "windows is saving your settings" shutdown screen. That's just bypassed though with powering off manually though, but it'd be nice if it actually shut down or restarted. The other issue I'm having is the power button and LEDs. None of the LEDs are lighting up with HDD activity, power, etc. I can use the power switch to turn it on, but I can't turn it off or reboot some times. could it be backwards connectors? Or something else? Last edited by Seph Kimara; 12-29-2005 at 03:26 PM. |

Hi.. I had my computer get completely screwed-up while updating AVG dat files.. . Slowed-down greatly, and couldn't find some drives. had to re-format the hard drives and completely re-install everything.
