I just bought all the components and am ready to throw together my first "self-built PC." I've never actully installed anything myself, but I've seen many of my friends build their PCs. I have a quick question... My motherboard is a Gigabyte with Intel 945PL chipset - http://www.giga-byte.com/MotherBoard...-8I945PL-G.htm
I bought a Seagate 300GB HDD Ultra ATA/100. Now, I want to know if my motherboard will support a hard drive higher than 137GB or do I need to buy a controller adapter card. It may be silly that I don't know this, but I'd appreciate if someone checked it out for me - to make sure

You'll be fine with that hard drive - it's not your motherboard that determines support of hard drive capacity, but your operating system. I believe that XP with at least service pack 1 (and potentially Windows 2000 SP4) is needed to show your hard drive as having capacity above 137GB.

It depends more on the OS that you use. XP with SP2 will support drives over 137gb.

Thanks a lot for the comments. I will actually start putting everything together right now and see how it turns out...
