Not enough drives for RAID array?

Well, I built my new computer and got past the problem of it not booting up(memory wasnt compatible), but now when it boots up, it checks the IDE drives, and then goes to a screen where i have the option to press tab to bring up a user window before the computer just reboots itself

if i press tab, it brings up the BIOS RAID window(which i couldnt find in regular BIOS) and there is a notice that says something along the lines of "not enough drives(maybe disks) to create a RAID!!!". It lists the IDE drives and can read my HD, so i dunno what the problem is. Im not even sure what a RAID is, but i checked what it was and i dont think i even need to have one set up.

I have a 40GB Maxtor hard drive. Its pretty small but I probably dont even use half the space, could it maybe be too small/outdated to use?

I never reformatted before i took it out of my other computer, so i think that could be the problem, would formatting/clearing the HD do the trick you think? If not it might be something i messed up with the IDE cables(its in a master slot), and theres the possibility that i only need to turn off the option that tries to make one

any help is appreciated

Is there already an OS on this drive?

I think you need to disable the RAID controller in BIOS, RAID requires two identical drives.

Oh, yeah, you did. Appears I overlooked that, anyhow, what OS is this?

Can you post the complete specs? Perhaps someone with experience with your board can tell you where it's at.

ok, I think that I might just have a corrupt hard drive, when I tried to install windows/format the drive, the CD couldnt even find the harddrive(though my MB found it), I then put it into my other computer to try and install windows on it, and it said it could find any drives(including the working one he had) so i took it out and i think it corrupted that hard drive, because that one wont work now. Is it possible my hard drive could have corrupted the other if they were on the same cable?(working HD was in master slot, broken one in slave)

Does this sound like probable behavior of a bad HD?
