Building a new rig
Yea it's time to build a new rig
![]() I came up with the following: Antec Truepower II 550watt (if i can find it in stock anywhere) Corsair XMS 2gb ASUS sli deluxe mobo xfx 7800gt (later buying another one) amd 64 3800+ case=still trying to decide hit me with suggestions, no server cases lol i'm buying everything from newegg.com, except for the power supply since their expecting not to have them till 2/6 omg.. thanks for help, Markus |

Case: Enter no power supply in the search at Newegg for about 300 of them. Get something that you like the looks of.
RAM: The value select will be fine. You only need the XMS if you are planning on overclocking. Operating System: XP oem with SP2 will do, unless you need some specific feature of XP Pro. Floppy Drive: Likely to be needed during the build. Optical Drives: Look at the Liteons, good quality and come with the burning software. Hard Drive(s): SATA 7200 rpm 16Mb cache from Seagate or Western Digital. Avoid the Raptors. They are overrated, overpriced and noisy. Sound Card: Not needed. The motherboard has pretty good onboard 8 channel sound already. Try it before you buy a card.
