Computer Restarts
I just built my computer and its been running good after i installed world of warcraft. I have a althon 64 cpu, asus a8v mobo, sATA maxtor 200gb hd, ATI 9600 Pro Video card, and a 420 w power supply. I would start up my computer and i would let it go like i can go on aim and not have any problems i can play guild wars with out this problem. but if im on world of warcraft i would play and like 2 mins later it will restart my computer. It doesnt just happen when im playing that game it happens sometimes when im not playing the game.

-ok first check the ram, do a memory test at memtest.org
-after if it still restarts, go in safe mode to try if it restarts there then if it still dosent work report back here

Check to be sure the CPU heatsink is securely mounted.

First thing I would suggest is turning off the Auto Restart feature so it will Blue Screen when it faults. Post back with the error message on the screen and it will point us in the right direction.
Press the Windows button and the Pause Break button at the same time to bring up System Properties>Advanced tab>Settings button under Startup and Recovery>uncheck Automatically Restart |
