Please help with build problem!

Hey everyone I have a problem with my new build. I'm trying my hand at building an Intel system for my brother's birthday, since I already built 2 AMD systems. This is the first time this has happened. At first I had everything installed and tried to boot the system but it wouldn't boot up at all until I cleared the Cmos jumpers (normal=pins 1&2 Clear Cmos=pins 2&3) then it'll boot up. as soon as it boots I don't get any video at all, nor any beeps, but the fans are on and the case lights come on as well. Anyones help would be much appreciated. Oh yeah the specs:
Mobo: ECS l4vxa2
Ram: 2x256 crucials pc3200
Processor: Intel Celeron D 2.13
Harddrive: 40 gb maxtor
Optical Drive: Artec internal dvd/cd-rw combo drive
Video Card: xfx geforce fx 5200

Did you try for post with the parts out of the case yet?

Did you plug in the extra 4 pin 12v power connector to the motherboard?

What brand power supply are you using?

One possibility is the ECS motherboard could be DOA.

okay me again I tried the out of case boot and it still gave the same results (no video) everything is running i can see the fans whrring but no beep or anything. What next? I'm thinking its the motherboard because i took apart my other computer and tested all the parts and they work fine. Any suggestions?

It only starts up if the CLEAR CMOS jumper is set to CLEAR? You got a bad motherboard, time to RMA it.
