My lcd monitor will not turn on when computer is powered on. The monitor is good, checked using my laptop. I did an out of the box install, on thing that happened is that the heat sink fan and power supply fan came on. Video card was reset many times. Dunno what else to try. Any help would be appriciated.

yea all the fans work as normal monitor stays in standby , pulled the card out several times and reinserted it, tried it with only one stick of ram then switched them, and i can not hear it beep either. monitor doesnt get signal. also when it was still inside case hard drive light stayed on.

Do you have access to another monitor that you can hook up to that video card? It's possible that the card is no good.

No, the other components shouldn't matter when hooking up a different monitor.
Do you have access to another video card as well? One that you know for sure works? Also, are you getting any beeping sounds from the machine when you try to start it up? |

Well, if the other monitor doesn't work then I'd guess it's either the Video Card that's bad or the Motherboard. Most likely the VC.
Does your card have a jack on the opposite side of where the monitor would hook up? It would be a jack for a power cable. If so, do you have it connected? |

i dont think that there is a seperate power jack. dont remember putting one on to begin but ill check the manual to see. theres a couple of places that you can plug stuff in though. not sure what they are for . ill look in the manual though.
